It's a purposeful-looking machine, and the specification suggests that the looks are justified. A lot of the technology seems to have been carried over from a Touring Car racing, since the two-litre engine produces 280bhp at 8500rpm and drives through a six-speed gearbox. There's no talk of a road version - it would be a bit of a handful - but we can probably expect to see the 207 RCup on the tracks in the near future. The other model ranges represented at Geneva are all familiar, the most recent being the 407 Coupé. But Peugeot will also be displaying a new version of the 307 called the CC Hybride HDi (pictured below).
Like the hatchback version which Peugeot revealed last month, the CC "technology demonstrator" uses PSA Peugeot Citroen's well-established 1.6-litre HDi 110 fitted with a diesel particulate filter and backed up by a 23kW electric motor. Total power output when the engine and motor are working flat-out would be in the region of 140bhp, but fuel economy and CO2 emissions would be much lower than you would expect from a standard 140bhp car.
