(Tue 15 Jun 10) Kia has announced a recall of around 7000 cars sold in the UK, having identified a couple of potential safety issues.
Picantos built between November 2009 and February 2010 are being recalled because Kia has found that the fuel filler neck seal may become damaged if it comes into contact with de-icer (as may very well have been the case last winter). Meanwhile, cee'd models built between 1 April 2008 and 30 March 2009 and fitted with the optional Electronic Stability Program may require new brake master cylinders. In each case, Kia is contacting owners of the vehicles in question, and will be replacing the components free of charge. The company says it is not aware of any UK owners having experienced any problems with either issue. |
